BABELS - MAKING ANOTHER WORLD POSSIBLE THROUGH TRANSLATION
This talk (in French) is about BABELS, the organization which coordinates the volunteer translation and interpretation services for the World Social Forum and the associated regional and thematic forums -- and about the speaker's personal experience of being part of a team of about 40 interpreters coming from about a dozen countries who provided simultaneous interpretation in four languages at the first Social Forum of the Americas held in Quito, Ecuador, July 25-30, 2004.
